MaMITs report card
Quick summary
An education software development company designs, builds and maintains software for institutions that teach: school management software, college and university systems, LMS platforms, online exam tools, coaching institute software and parent or student apps. A good one maps your real processes first, links fees, attendance and results, and gives parents one app they actually open.

Who we build for
The same word, "ERP", means very different things to a CBSE school, a coaching centre and a corporate training team. The first module should match the pain that costs you the most each month.

School ERP
Each module is useful alone. The real value is that they share one student record, so a fee default, a long absence and a falling test score show up together, before the parent-teacher meeting.
Routes, stops, bus fees and live location for parents. Deeper fleet features live on our logistics software page.
Teacher marks on a phone, or devices do it: biometric for staff, RFID cards at gates or on buses. Absence alerts reach parents the same morning. Hardware links are covered on our custom software page.
Teacher load, room clashes and substitutions when someone is on leave. Rule-based suggestions save hours, but a coordinator always approves the final grid.
Online enquiry and application forms, document upload, entrance test slots, seat allotment and sibling linking. Enquiries that do not convert stay as leads for the next intake.
Instalments, concessions, late fines and transport or hostel fees in one ledger. Parents pay by UPI, card or net banking through your payment gateway and get a receipt instantly.
Catalogue, barcode issue and return, fines and reading history per student.
Marks entry by subject teachers, grade rules, co-scholastic remarks and printable report cards in your board's layout.
Staff records, leave, attendance-linked salary and statutory deductions. Fee accounting and stock can connect to our ERP, billing and inventory work.
Rooms, mess plans, gate passes and night roll call, with health notes kept separately and visible to few staff.

Parents
The four questions every parent asks
Staff will use a system because they are told to. Parents will not. If the parent app is slow, confusing or full of notices nobody reads, they go back to phoning the office, and the school pays twice. We design the parent app around four questions parents actually ask: is my child in school, what is due, how did the test go, and what changed today.
Many families in India live on WhatsApp, so we often send fee reminders, absence alerts and circulars there through the official WhatsApp Business Platform, with templates and parent opt-in. A WhatsApp assistant can also answer routine questions such as fee balance or bus timing; see our AI development page for how that works and where a human must step in.
Colleges and universities
A college is not a big school. It has departments that behave like separate businesses, electives that cut across them, an exam cell with its own rules and an affiliating university that wants data in its own format. Good university software treats the programme structure as data, not code, so a new elective or credit rule is a setting, not a new project.
introduced the idea of an Academic Bank of Credits and multiple entry and exit. Institutions register on abc.gov.in and upload the credits students earn. ABC accounts are now tied to the student's APAAR ID, a 12-digit academic identity. Your college ERP therefore needs clean course codes, credit values per course, semester-wise results and an APAAR ID field per student, so uploads are an export rather than a week of retyping.
| Code | Course | Credits | Term | Grade |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CS-201 | Data Structures | 4 | Sem 3 | A |
| MA-205 | Discrete Maths | 3 | Sem 3 | B+ |
| EL-110 | Elective: Design | 2 | Sem 3 | A |
Credit upload is an exportSample data

Coaching institutes
In a coaching business the expensive leak is usually before admission. A parent calls, asks about the JEE batch, gets a callback two days late and joins someone else. That is why we connect coaching institute software to our own AI lead management software: every enquiry from calls, the website, ads or walk-ins gets an owner, a follow-up date and a demo class slot.
After admission the work is batches, test series and doubts. Tests can be online or OMR on paper with results uploaded; either way students should see a rank, topic-wise weak areas and the solution video for each question.

LMS and live classes
Lessons from Galaxino · UAE
MaMITs built a live online-classes platform for an education company in the UAE. Teachers host classes, students join from the web, and the sales team joins demo classes for new leads. It runs on the Zoom Video SDK with screen share, a whiteboard and an admin CMS. The lesson that matters for anyone planning LMS development: the video call is the easy part. The hard parts are roles (who is host, who is only a participant), joining rules when someone arrives before the teacher, and what happens on a weak connection. If you need meetings rather than classes, our LiteMeet product may be enough on its own.
Online exam software handles question banks, random papers, timers and instant results well. Remote proctoring is weaker than vendors suggest. A webcam cannot see a second phone, poor lighting triggers false flags and a dropped connection can look like cheating. Use automated flags only as a reason for a human to review, never as an automatic fail, and tell students in advance what is recorded and for how long. For high-stakes papers, a supervised centre is still safer.
Case studies
A live-classes platform in the UAE, a college, a school and a computer institute in Bhopal, and a data engineering academy in Gurugram. All five are live, so you can open them and check for yourself.
Case study · UAE
Galaxino teaches children through live classes with international curricula. MaMITs built the website, the student dashboard, the admin panel and the live-class screen.
The hard part was not the video. It was making sure the right person is host, that a sales demo never takes over a class, and that a teacher can present anything without leaving it.

One student record
Most schools we speak to run four or five separate tools: one for fees, one for attendance, a spreadsheet for results and a WhatsApp group for everything else. Each holds a different spelling of the same child's name. When the student record is single, the transfer certificate, the fee clearance and the alumni list come from the same place, and nobody retypes data during the busiest weeks of the year.

Student records
Education software holds data about children, often including photos, health notes and biometric templates. So every screen shows staff only the part of the record their job needs. Schools that also run a hostel infirmary, a uniform shop or a transport fleet often bring in pieces we build for other sectors: clinic and health records software for the medical room, retail and stock software for the store, and factory-grade inventory logic for printed material and kits.
UDISE+ is the Ministry of Education's system where schools submit yearly data on infrastructure, students and teachers. APAAR IDs for school students are created through schools via UDISE+, with parental consent for minors. We do not claim direct government integrations; we keep your records complete and formatted so the yearly submission is a quick check rather than a scramble.
Every learner
A district school on 2G, a student with low vision and a teacher with a five-year-old phone all have to use the same system. We test screens against WCAG 2.2 basics: readable contrast, keyboard use, labelled forms and captions on recorded lessons. Attendance and marks entry can work offline on Android and sync later. Video lessons come in lower resolutions and as downloads, and SMS stays as a fallback for parents without smartphones.

Build or buy
Our answer: many single schools should start with a ready-made product. Custom work pays off when your processes, scale or business model do not fit one.
| Question | Ready-made SaaS | Custom build | Hybrid |
|---|---|---|---|
| Time to start | Days | Weeks to months, phased | Weeks |
| Fits your fee rules | If they are common | Exactly | Core common, edge cases custom |
| Who owns the data and code | Vendor platform, export terms vary | You, per contract | Mixed, agree in writing |
| Yearly cost pattern | Per-student or per-year fee | Build cost plus support | Subscription plus custom work |
| Your own branded app | Often shared vendor app | Yes | Possible |
| Changes when rules change | When the vendor decides | When you decide | Depends on the part |
| Best for | One school, standard processes | Groups, coaching chains, EdTech products | Growing groups with one odd process |
If you sell education as a product, as an EdTech startup does, the software is your business, and owning it usually matters more.
Permissions
Most data leaks in schools are not hacks. They are a class teacher who can see every family's fee concessions. Roles are set per module and per class, and every change to marks or fees is logged with who and when.

How we work
This is how EdTech software development stays predictable: one module goes live, gets used by real teachers for a few weeks, and only then does the next one start.
We go through your fee structure, timetable, reports and current tools, and agree what goes live first.
Clickable screens for the office, a teacher and a parent, reviewed by the people who will use them.
Usually fees and attendance first, because they show value in the first month. Exams, transport and the app follow.
Old spreadsheets and software exports are cleaned, deduplicated and checked with you before import.
Short role-wise training. We avoid launching in admission season or exam weeks.
Board formats, fee rules and sessions change every year; we plan updates before the new session starts.

Budget
We quote after a scoping call, because two "school ERPs" can differ several times over in effort. These factors move the number the most:
A small first module can start after a short scoping call, and many schools grow from there. A public school website is a separate, smaller job; see dynamic website development.
Main cost factors
Choosing a vendor
People searching for the top school software company usually compare feature lists. Ask these questions instead; good education software developers answer them without hesitation.
Our own portfolio and company FAQ are open to check before you call.

FAQ
The terms overlap a lot. School management software often means the daily tools: attendance, fees and notices. School ERP software usually implies a fuller system where admissions, fees, exams, transport, HR and accounts share one database, so reports come from one place. Ask any vendor which modules share data and which are separate.
It depends on modules and data quality, so we give a plan after scoping rather than a promise. Most projects go live in phases: fees and attendance first, then exams, transport and the parent app. Phasing lets staff learn one part at a time and avoids launching during admissions or exam weeks.
Yes. The fee module connects to the payment gateway your institution chooses, so parents pay by UPI, card or net banking and receive a receipt immediately. Payments are matched to the student ledger automatically, and failed or pending payments are checked against the gateway before a receipt is issued.
Yes, the student record can hold the APAAR ID and the consent status, and keep data in the shape UDISE+ asks for, so the yearly submission becomes a check rather than retyping. APAAR IDs themselves are created through schools via UDISE+ with parental consent for minors; the software supports that process but does not replace it.
Yes. A college ERP must handle departments, electives, credits, semester exams and university affiliation formats. Under NEP 2020 and the Academic Bank of Credits, colleges also upload earned credits linked to APAAR ID, so course and credit data must be clean. School software rarely models this, which is why colleges often outgrow it.
Yes. A coaching institute app can carry batches, timetables, test series with rank lists, doubt solving, recorded lectures and fee reminders under your own name in the app stores. We usually connect it to lead management so every enquiry is followed up and tracked until admission.
No software can. Online exam software can randomise questions, shuffle options, set section timers, lock the browser tab and flag unusual behaviour on webcam. A second phone or a helper outside the camera view is still possible. Treat flags as reasons for a human to review, and use supervised centres for high-stakes exams.
A single school with standard processes is often fine with a ready-made product. Custom education software development suits school groups, coaching chains, colleges with complex credit rules and EdTech startups whose software is the product. A hybrid, ready-made core with custom modules, is common. Decide on data ownership and export before price.
Yes. Staff biometric devices and RFID cards for students at gates or on buses can post attendance to the system, which then alerts parents. We store biometric templates rather than images where the device allows, restrict who can access them, because this is sensitive data about children and staff.
It can, if designed for it. Teacher apps can save attendance and marks offline and sync later, lessons can be downloaded in low resolution, and parents without smartphones can get SMS. Tell us your weakest connection during scoping so we test on that, not on office Wi-Fi.
There is no single number. Cost depends on modules, number of branches and students, apps, hardware, live video, data migration and support level. MaMITs quotes after a scoping call, and a small first module can start quickly. Compare vendors on what is included in yearly support, not just the first invoice.
